My Personal Marketing Plan

Before I get into the actual plan, let me clarify something here.

Your main goal as an entrepreneur is to make money by providing something of value to other people. Money is an important part of our lives. If you're not comfortable with that idea, you won't make any money. It's as simple as that!

No, money won't buy you happiness. But, it will give you more time and freedom so you can improve the quality of your life and the lives of those you care about. Money is a "means" to an end - it's not the "end" in itself. However, it is still a very important part of our lives.

You have to believe in your gut that you deserve to be rich, to be financially wealthy. If you don't, no product or marketing plan will make you rich.

Someone once said...

I couldn't have said it better. It's all about deservability. If you don't believe that you deserve financial abundance in your life, you will never have it.

Onwards...

Here is my personal marketing plan that I have used successfully for some time:

    UNDERLYING PRINCIPLE: Don't waste time.
(Take on the shortest and easiest projects first.)

  1. Market products that exist!
Don't create new products. (Not yet.) This does not mean that you should market just any product. It's the successful products that you should be interested in. Successful products are not those that you think are amazing. It's those products that a large number of the population think are amazing and they are willing to part with some of their money to get these products.

Many people frown at the idea of marketing products created by others. The "smart" marketers find great products, get resale rights to it or join affiliate programs and make a ton of money! The not-so-smart ones spend most of their time creating new products. This is fine if you have other sources of income constantly coming in. If not, leave this step for later.

  2. Model the successful Marketers
Don't recreate advertising. (Not yet!) Model the successful marketers.

Please understand what I am saying here. Don't steal ad copy that belongs to someone else. Do NOT plagiarize, ever! Bad reputation spreads faster than good on the Internet. Instead, model the ideas of successful marketers. Study the ad copy of the experts. Find out what in their ads would make you buy their products. Then model the same ideas into your own ads and sales letters.

I am not an expert at online marketing. I just pay close attention to what Allen Says and other successful marketers are doing. Then, I model those ideas which apply to me and my goals.

    UNDERLYING PRINCIPLE: Don't waste money
If you have money to throw away, then you can do what you want with it. If not, then design a marketing budget and stick to it!

  3. Don't ignore the freebies!
Use all the free and low-cost marketing resources first! This is also a great way to test your ideas and advertising out without wasting too much money on advertising. Here are some of the freebies that anyone can use:

    Classifieds
I love classifieds advertising because it's dirt cheap. And it guarantees the fact that I will get the email addresses of everyone that responds to my offer. Then, I just use Allen's technique and keep sending them offers till they either buy or want out! Keep in mind that I don't shove my offer down their throats when I e-mail to them again. I offer them something of value first - in the form of free reports, links to useful websites, and so on.

    Newsletter
Of course, you already know that a newsletter is a great way to keep in contact with your customers on a regular basis. One advice though: Don't send your newsletters out every single day! Especially if all you're doing is advertising your products. If you do, people will either start unsubscribing or worse, they will delete your messages as soon as they see it.

    Search Engines
No, it's not easy to get top positioning with the popular search engines. But use them anyway!

    Here's why:

    • Some people will still find you. Not all of these people will be interested in your products. So what?! It's still FREE advertising!

I watch my hit report, and every now and then, I get people visiting my site totally by fluke.

    • Allow the search engine 'robot' to spider your site automatically.

One of the best ways to get good listing with search engines is to let the search engine 'robot' spider your site.

What the heck do I mean, you ask? Let me explain. Most search engines have 'robots' that seek out or "spider" websites and then automatically list/rank them onto their search engine listings.

How do you get these robots to spider your site? It's easy. Submit only your main website to the search engine. Then wait patiently for the robot to spider the "rest" of your web pages on it's own.

Of course, before you submit your main page to the search engines, get all the other pages ready with meta tags armed with your best keywords. Don't use "unrelated keywords" or you will be at a disadvantage.

  4. Monitor and Perfect Your Techniques
Keep polishing, improving, and perfecting your marketing techniques till you succeed - till you start seeing profits.

Also, keep track of the ads and advertising sources that work. Tracking your results is an important step that most beginners ignore or just forget to do. By keeping good records of what's working and what's not, you will be able to invest your time and money better the next time around.

Now is also a good time to try out any new ads, ideas or concepts that you may have. Note: I have waited until I have some money coming in before I start trying out completely new ads or ideas.

This is the reason the Internet is the best thing that ever happened to marketers. The Internet is probably the only place where you can test and retest your ads and sales letters dirt cheap! So, take advantage of it!

  5. Invest into your business
Invest a portion of your profits back into your business. This could be in the form of using marketing sources which may cost a little more but give you better exposure, or buying better office equipment, including better & faster computers, and so on. Anything that will help your business do better. A good rule of thumb is to reinvest about 30 percent of your profits into your business.

  6. Don't rest on your laurels
Now that you have some money coming in, you can start working on those other projects that you've been itching to complete. This could mean searching for other products to resell, or creating new products of your own if that's what you want to do. It could also mean tackling those other projects that are more time-consuming.

While you are doing this, don't forget to keep marketing your original products on a consistent basis.

  7. Back to the Front
Now's the time to market the new products...Go back to Step 1. Repeat the process with the new products. Take good notes on what's working and what's not, what you're learning along the way, and any new distinctions that you make. These will help you become better at what you're doing all the time.

That's it! That's my marketing plan, in a nutshell. If you can find a better way to market, please share it with me. I'm always open to new ideas and suggestions.
